The Republican Playbook Review

One of the most popular political humor was pounds in recent memory, America (the Book): A Citizen's Guide to Democratic Inaction, by Jon Stewart and the other aimed at Comedy Central's The Daily Show. America was a political parody of a civics textbook in disguise. Now comes another political parody in disguise, this time as a Republican strategy manual called The Republican Playbook. The book itself off as a top-secret manual of President George W. Bush (installed with "his"Doodling and comments before the deadline), how to win elections, and political issues.

The trick in a book like this is to overcome the top enough to be funny, but realistic enough to parody it is to look and feel. America succeeded, and then the Republican playbook. No chance to get the Republicans is not, especially the current government, but the book offers "introductions" to return "questions" from another Republican presidentare equally funny. However, the book is so rare in anger toward the current administration that they lose their sense of humor obsolete and stops only a bit of plausibility Necessary to make a book like this work. The book is divided into five "lessons", organized on topical political issues like Iraq. Within these lessons. among the most entertaining sections are the Republican Supreme Court official litmus test, "" How To Drain all spontaneity From Your Town Meeting "and" Dr.Time's Long-Distance Diagnosis of prominent Democrats. "Having been the last of those three, Borowitz, excavation will take place in many Democrats, too. The Republican Playbook is a fun, relatively quick read That clearly liberal, it is addressed, but many conservatives would be able to see the 'humor in it, too. This is one of the funniest parodies of American politics in recent years. I always laughed again read aloud, and other supporters of current U.S. policyit, too.

The Republican Playbook Overview

Scandals. Lies. A breathtaking disregard for federal laws. How on earth do the Republicans keep winning? Easy: They’ve got a Playbook

After the 2004 presidential debates, eagle-eyed observers hypothesized about the rectangular bulge tucked inside George W.’s suit jacket, visible in images shown around the world. Was it a radio receiver, allowing Karl Rove to feed the president complete sentences he’d never form on his own? Perhaps it was a remote-control device that enabled Dick Cheney to operate W. like a robot. Nah. The real explanation was much simpler, and yet far more disturbing: It was The Republican Playbook.

Required reading for every Republican candidate, office-holder, or super-secret covert operative, The Republican Playbook contains all the schemes, scams, and dirty tricks used to attain victory since Richard Nixon commissioned the first edition back in 1972. Did you know:

-President Gerald Ford’s notorious clumsiness wasn’t caused by an inner-ear disorder — the Playbook stashed in his left rear pants pocket threw off his equilibrium. -A chapter entitled “Deny Knowing Anything About Anything” was particularly helpful to President Ronald Reagan.

Packed with detailed instructions on essential topics like how to run a smear campaign, how to cover a leak, and how to plant one, plus diagrams for fully functioning voting booth/ballot shredders (to be used in Florida, Ohio, and other battleground states), The Republican Playbook is a must-read if we’re ever going to survive the 2006 elections.

Promises Betrayed: Waking Up from the American Dream Review

Bob Herbert, columnist for The New York Times editorial, collects some of his columns, which show 1995-2004 in "Promises." The journalist gives a voice to the voiceless blacks citizens of Tulia, Texas, wounded soldiers of the Iraq war railroaded, and the working class struggle. The writing is clear and often poignant, especially in attack, a provider of injustice, as the racist cop in Tulia or some of the policies of President Bush. For example,Herbert cites George Akerlof, Nobel Prize in economics in 2001 in order to shed light on the current U.S. economy. Akerlof says, "the Bush fiscal policy is the worst policy in the last 200 years."

A disturbing fact of this collection is that Herbert is repeated often in a lot of related columns. For example, the same facts and curiosities and again mentioned in "Shame in Tulia" columns, which appear in the correct order, as originally publishednewspaper printing. This annoyance aside, "Promises Betrayed" is still an important piece of reportage, which leads to a clear case of injustice to light. Nevertheless, Herbert continued his report takes a step and I think the reported cases are a reflection of America decay from within its eroding morale. He says: "We were attacked from outside, But The greatest danger for America is of the essence in it. There's a fire in the basement of the United States, and we act as if weNor can smell the smoke. "

Bohdan Kot

Promises Betrayed: Waking Up from the American Dream Overview

ob Herbert is the conscience of the op-ed page of The New York Times, and his work is characterized by a strong moral vision and a deep understanding of the human costs of political decisions. From partisan politics to popular culture, from race relations to criminal justice, few journalists bring to life so movingly the stories of ordinary people caught between the American dream and American realities. Whether it is the inherent injustice of the death penalty or the demagoguery of the war on terrorism, Herbert questions whether we are truly upholding our ideals or merely giving them lip service.

Repetitive collection of dated newspaper columns – J. Minatel – Fishers, IN USA
I'll try to start with something positive: the cover is enough.

Moreover, they are not spending more time in my post, as the author of "write" this book, I put five minutes or less funding. This is a collection of columns. If the author has written 10 columns on the same theme and put everything in the book, does not even deal with the trouble of redundancies. Columns that could go 20 pages of the book to 4 were due to the elimination of 80% reductionColonna, who spent the previous day repeat columns.
Couple that with columns to spend 10-20 pages to argue against a particular injustice, only one paragraph in a footnote at the end to see that the injustice of 'act would be created or that the column is 5 years and more relevant with events showed that since, and the impression of a writer with little respect for his readers and their time.

Sabotage: America’s Enemies within the CIA Review

was in the sixties, the CIA, which has developed its permanent bureaucracy, and took the shots in Congress and has been in print for the Development of Several political groups are allowed to be developed. Worse, there are those within it, stimulated by the political agenda of people like Senator Carl Levin, the CIA used as a basis for developing further its own agenda. We have seen over and over again during the tenure of George W. Bush. By AgencyAgency bureaucrats feel free to have permanent working against the policies of U.S. president. According to Rowan Scarborough, the CIA is a hotbed of sedition thing. Oh, have the staff to the President their reasons and excuses. The problem is that they are responsible for very destructive behavior, breaking laws and oaths, and weakening our country.

The author presents the stories behind the headlines shows us how to use people like Karen Kwiatkowskito turn their seats at the Pentagon conspiracy false stories in the press for efforts to undermine the Bush administration in Iraq. He was assisted in their evil deeds by Senator Carl Levin of Michigan, which reads like an honorable senator, but his works relentlessly malevolent agenda.

We also have a solid look to Valerie Plame – Joe Wilson affair and their lies and ruthless politician exposed. But what they are saying it suits the agenda of the New York Timesother bastions of the left an agenda to work independently from the truth.

Scarborough also leads us through the administrations of the CIA Tenet and Porter Goss. Goss tried to help solve what is wrong with the CIA, but was sabotaged by the permanent bureaucracy, CIA, the micro-management by John Negroponte, the media left and groped the Bush administration. Goss has handle things perfectly? No, but we need the CIA fixed and can not be done by one person. It shoulda concerted effort by all those who have input, as the CIA is occupied, maintained and managed.

This is a concise, clear written revelation of what is really happening in the CIA. Many of us have ideas that the CIA is made up of people loyal to the President who is and remains his (or her) to help implement the policy. Nothing doing. The appendices contain some interesting documents, the stories told in support of the text, and is a practical "characters" inBack of the book.

I think this book is a budget of what you should be read in the mainstream press. Will change the way you look at it eliminates the stories as fact.

It 's a proven fact that the CIA told Bush repeated that Iraq is no threat to the United States in any way, They had nothing to do with 911 & Scarborough takes all.Rowan WASotherwise. He believe is just another polital Hack, compensation for the apparent failure of Bush's lies and attempts, the CIA is all Bush's fault.

It Certainly Seems That The CIA Has Turned Into A Rogue Agency – Michael L. Slavin – New Jersey
This book definitely points out, have worked as some CIA officers and employees against the best interests of the United States. Reading this will make your blood boil. The facts are presented in excruciating detail. A strong argument is, as elements of the CIA pulled out all the stops to bring down President Bush has built. The names of many of the offenders are given. We hope to elect a new president in 2012, which is really clean house from top to bottom. Especially since we have aThe Attorney General in charge, the move quickly remove and revenge against the other man seems to be better.

A good work. – Paul Marks –
Rowen Scarborough, "Sabotage: enemies within the CIA" is a good job.

It tells the grim facts of many leading personalities in a public body (in fact, the general atmosphere within the agency) and more to domestic politics (especially the Bush administration to undermine and generally attack people think that the Iranian government and Islamic radicals and other non-Islamic powers have hostile intentions toward the United States andBids can not be done with them) than with the discharge of their duties.

One can imagine that the political decisions of the Bush Administration was wrong (for example, I think the decision to go to Iraq in 2003, a guilty verdict was), and you can even hold a low opinion of President Bush Himself – but the executive branch employees are primarily defense and intelligence section is not intended to undermine the President, They are there for the Implementation of its policies (or withdrawal).

As withthe opinion of senior CIA (and the people that are connected), which can be with the Iranian government, or made that is not the Cuban government against the United States, or …….

Well, if that political opinions have been deprived of support that it could play no role. Mr. Scarborough, however, clarifies that such comments directly related to how people do their most important work, and that these people are using smear tactics (through media) to undermine their opponents andundermine the administration.

This activity is not acceptable.

However, the fact that President Bush has done so little about these things in the last six years, also shows that a poor manager (in fact, the weak man), President Bush – a conclusion, Mr. Scarborough may not be satisfied , But the facts he brings the light that guides me.

Stupid White Men: …And Other Sorry Excuses for the State of the Nation! Review

I read this book in 2010, after some important moments are long gone, but still has some relevance for the present and makes a good historical reference of the late '90s to 2001 before 11.09. A very informative book I must say.

I agree with most of what Mike says. Bush was in office scam. That the United States is a nation idiot, demonstrated by people voting for Bush in 2004 after scamming also connect to the office, can point to 11.09, and start a war for revenge in IraqWeapons of mass destruction fictitious. The African-Americans are doing good pretending it is true. I think the facts in its assessment of Russia that many Democrats are similar to the Republicans, and others.

I disagree with Mike on some issues and are white. If recycling is a scam I think there is no reason for plastic, glass and what not, because recycling is only possible if all parties do their part, just because a group can not do, does not mean there is a party are separated, we allmust give up, but it means that something must be done to get this non-compliant groups get with the program. I do not think the change is good, bottled water because tap water has some air pollutants, (plastic is not environmentally friendly) and I am sure that the mineral water is contaminated, when tap water is already . I do not think that more women than men are born is the natural route of elimination of men. Some might even argue that it is the natural way to increase populationPopulation (eg polygamy).

I am mixed with beef and Mike on Bill Clinton. It 'good to give up meat (beef, is not environmentally friendly), as it did, but I do not know his reasons for believing in it, even if it does not matter what the ends are straight. I'm not sure all its ratings on Bill Clinton. He tried to overcome some of the health care reform, for example. While I agree that Clinton has also done many bad things. I'm glad that Hilary becomes president. <br/>
The book cites a number of recommendations so that you do not know Mike is the production of things, as conservative critics argue, there is no need to read "Michael Moore is a stupid fat white Man, if you're a conservative.

Stupid White Men: …And Other Sorry Excuses for the State of the Nation! Overview

In the winter of 2002, Stupid White Men took America — and the world — by storm. Tired and skeptical of George W. Bush’s high approval ating, frightened by the implications of the Enron scandal — and generally just looking for a voice of honest dissent in the thick atmosphere of jingoism that followed 9/11 — book buyers from coast to coast swiftly embraced Michael Moore’s in-your-face anti-Bush-era manifesto, making it one of the bestselling nonfiction books of the year.

With an unerring eye for greed, hypocrisy, and corruption, Michael Moore takes on the whole ugly mess of America at the dawn of the twenty-first century. Whether he’s demanding U.N. action to overthrow the Bush Family Junta or calling on African Americans to place whites only signs over the entrances of unfriendly businesses, Stupid White Men is a pitch-perfect skewering of our culture of Malfeasance and Mediocrity.

Stupid White Men: …And Other Sorry Excuses for the State of the Nation! Specifications

Stupid White Men, Michael Moore’s screed against “Thief-in-Chief” George Bush’s power elite, hit No. 1 at Amazon.com within days of publication. Why? It’s as fulminating and crammed with infuriating facts as any right-wing bestseller, as irreverent as The Onion, and as noisily entertaining as a wrestling smackdown. Moore offers a more interesting critique of the 2000 election than Ralph Nader’s Crashing the Party (he argued with Nader, his old boss, who sacked him), and he’s serious when he advocates ousting Bush. But Moore’s rage is outrageous, couched in shameless gags and madcap comedy: “Old white men wielding martinis and wearing dickies have occupied our nation’s capital…. Launch the SCUD missiles! Bring us the head of Antonin Scalia!… We are no longer [able] to hold free and fair elections. We need U.N. observers, U.N. troops.” Moore’s ideas range from on-the-money (Arafat should beat Sharon with Gandhi’s nonviolent shame tactics) to over-the-top: blacks should put inflatable white dolls in their cars so racist cops will think they’re chauffeurs; the ever-more-Republicanesque Democratic Party should be sued for fraud; “no contributions toward advancing our civilization ever came out of the South [except Faulkner, Hellman, and R.J. Reynolds],” because it’s too hot to think straight there; Korean dictator Kim Jong-il “has got to broaden himself beyond porn and John Wayne” by watching better movies, like Dude, Where’s My Car? (which contains “all you need to know about America”). Whatever your politics, Stupid White Men should make you blow your stack. –Tim Appelo

Ten years on…. – Michael Brown – FL
"Stupid White Men … and other excuses for the sorry state of the nation!" Michael Moore is an interesting book. This book is more about what with our country and how both parties are guilty of causing. It 'also an invitation to return to our country one step at a time. This book was written before 9 / 11.

Michael Moore in this book takes the time to refute some of the myths some of us live with and perhaps believe. Tira has no impact onProblems with both Republicans and Democrats Clinton and show the actions were not so different from George W. (See pp. 209-228, Democrats DOA).

Although it was written almost 10 years ago still has a lot left and right say the Democrats, Republicans, independent and Tea Baggers. I would recommend reading this book.
