“My 2nd one – both broken, both now in landfills – no repair help” 2010-04-07
By T. Cleave (Portland, OR)
Save yourself the time and hassle. Don’t buy oster.

This is my second Oster Convection Toaster oven. I really enjoy them… when they work. Which seems to stop happening right when the warranty runs out.

TWICE now, I have had Oster Toaster ovens that I like, but like clockwork, when the 1 year warranty expires, there is NOTHING that can be done to fix them. I even offered to pay for a repair, and the representative told me that I would be wasting my money, and should just get a new one.

The warranty period is way too short. The should be called one year disposable appliances.

Two ovens now in landfills. Thanks Oster.

“Loved it, but it caught on fire!” 2010-04-06
By Rawdawg (Orlando,FL)
That same burning electric smell happened to me as well as some have said. Then there was a fire inside the control panel. Yes literally a fire! Needless to say…back to Costco it goes. I loved the oven before this and used it all the time. It is true, it does suck as a toaster, but as an oven it became my goto cooking appliance instead of my high end convection kitchen oven I bought.

If it did not catch on fire I would still be using it…but that is where I draw the line. The fact that there are other reported incidents of this out there , lead me to believe this is not an isolated incident…so be careful and always unplug this puppy when not using it. I wold feel uncomfortable about walking outside while cooking with this thing if I were any of you.

For whats it worth..It did work well for the year and a half I was using it daily. But that is no excuse for catching fire.

Consider yourselves warned.

“Burns toast. Too many steps for toast.” 2010-03-22
By Barbara Lidestri
This baby takes toooo long to toast. Too many steps for simple toast; push on, adjust temp up or down, wait forever and watch that it dosen’t burn, as it is wont to do, and listen for that meek beep, and it will not shut itself off. Also, can not maintain a preferred temp. for toast, because it always goes back to manufacture preset when power is stopped.

“Great unit in all respects” 2010-03-07
By Clifford M. Magnussen (Tacoma, WA)
Our old toaster oven went belly up and decided to look for different brand, won’t give name of old unit, but name starts with B and ends with D (don’t buy one they are el cheapo, used to be very good). Read all reviews on many brands, went looking at stores at many brands and settled on the Oster 6058. We have been using it for about a month now and have tried ALL features. So far everything has worked GREAT!!!

While reading reviews I noticed several that commented about the “Slow bread toasting” Hummmm, works great for us, matter a fact set it at 2 and at 1 1/2 it is done, and very evenly toasted, very quick in comparison to our old unit which took about 8-10 Min.

Also noticed someone said it caught on fire but didn’t say if it was the oven or thier fault for leaving something in to long or dripping stuff on lower element…………DUH!!!

Did notice one fault, only takes a Max. 11 1/2″ Pizza pan or Pizza without pan, other wise it touches the door.

Also took note of complaining about heat of exterior of unit, YES matilda they do get hot, they all do!!! And you will burn your pinky if you leave your finger, knuckel or whatever on it to long.

Also took note of a review about confusion about to many buttons to push to get started. I’m clicker challanged and Yes thier are a few more buttons to push but by following the instructions even this old guy could do it. Not that much of a problem once you get used to end up with pushing the Timer and “Start” button, otherwise it goes off quickly or won’t start.

That’s all my comments, I give it 4.99/100 stars…………..

 “Lovely Oven” 2010-03-03
By Janelly Del Carmen Russe (Los Angeles. CA)
I purchased this oven in Costco for 60 dollars and was very pleased with it then I moved and left it behind…bad call! so I decided to purchase it again although more expensive but I just think it was worth it! it looks beautiful, its easy to operate and toasts perfectly!! I did not gave it 5 stars since it was 30 dollars more expensive than my original purchase.
